Origin

Labrador Retrievers, is originated from Newfoundland. These breed is the oldest of the modern recognized breeds. These breed were cros-bred with spaniels, setters and other types of retrievers, but eventually the breeder stop doing like that, and now become the breed as we know today.

They were used to retrieve fish that fell from nets as well as water birds and helping fasherman to pull in nets. They even help pulled small boats through the water.

The breed of dog was registered with the AKC in 1917.

Coat

The Labrador Retriever is a double coat breed. The outer coat is dense, short and soft. The under coat is water resistant that provides protection from water, cold and all types of ground cover. They is compact, well balanced, sturdy, short coupled, and is a medium size dog breeds.

Their coat colors comes with chocolate, black, and yellow. The head is broad, friendly eyes, and tail is otterlike. They are intelligence and good temperament.

These breeds is average shedder.

Character

They is very smart, alert, understanding, and gentle manner characteristic. They are neither is slow nor too active. Friendly to people,  and very loyal to their master.

The labrador like to play a lot, in particular they like to play games wit people.  They are a great family dogs.

Training

The Labrador Retriever is very intelligent, this make these breed very easy to trained. Early socialization and training should be start early from a lab puppy. The training should teach them social manners and all the household rule.  They can learn advanced obedience, tricks or anything else, as long as you willing to teach.

You should train these breeds with firmness, consistency, fairness, and rewards.

Grooming

Grooming Labrador is not difficult, they is a low maintenance dog. They requires regular grooming with a firm bristle brush, brushed on a weekly basis. Bathe and dry shampoo when its necessary.

They is a average shedder, and can shed more heavily on a seasonal basis, should be brushing daily during these times will lessen the hair drop.

Overview

The labrador very good as guide dogs for the blind, they is easy to train and very good in obedience. They very like to eat lot, so that they should be train properly.

They is a good natured,and loyal dog that makes a wonderful family pet,as part of an active family or as a trusted hunting companion.
